BP Business Challenge at Waimea College
The Winning Team and judges at last week’s competition held at Waimea College.
The Year 11 students had just 2 days to turn an idea into a viable business proposal to pitch to 5 local judges.
The BP Business Challenge introduces students to the world of business in a fun and engaging way.
Students work in teams to create a new product and devise a business plan to bring their idea to market.
The winning team, Dyneemc Superlight designed a practical piece of luggage made of extremely light fabric.
Their presentation was very confident and professional with some good market research, SWOT analysis and customer engagement.
As Emma says “It was a privilege to hear each team present their ideas. We never had this opportunity back in our school days and to see some enthusiastic and cohesive teams after only a couple of days together was such a buzz.”
Sarah from the Business Trust was one of the judges, alongside Emma of the Green Collective, David marketing expert, the Manager of MacDonalds in Richmond and Waimea Head Student.
