COVID-19 Individuals and Families

If people are concerned about their student loan, KiwiSaver or child support or they are wondering about Working for Families payments - IRD have information to make sure they get the assistance they need. Details are available here

COVID-19 Small Business Cashflow Scheme (SBCS)  

The Government has introduced the Small Business Cashflow (loan) Scheme (SBCS) to support businesses and organisations struggling because of loss of revenue as a result of COVID-19. The scheme has been extended to 31 December 2020.

Details about eligibility criteria and applying for the loan can be found at

  • In most cases, businesses will be entitled to a loan amount of $10,000 plus $1,800 per full-time-equivalent employee, to a maximum of $100,000.
  • The annual interest rate will be 3% beginning from the date of the loan being provided.

Wage Subsidy and Leave Payment Schemes 

The Ministry of Social Development administer the wage subsidy and leave payment scheme. To find out more about these go to
